Welcome to the Texon Antimicrobial Commentary Blog! This blog is for people to discuss the issues and solutions as they deal with MRSA, Staph, and bacteria in athletics. While Texon, as a company, has worked in athletics for over 35 years, we are opening this blog to establish a place for athletic professionals to learn from us, as well as each other. We welcome your comments on anything MRSA, Staph, bacteria or fungi, as it relates to the health and wellness for athletes and staff.
Texon Towel and Supply recently formed Texon Antimicrobial, because we felt we needed to help fight and eliminate MRSA and Staph athletics and locker rooms.
It is our hope that with the assistance of helpful doctors, athletic trainers and athletic equipment managers that Texon Antimicrobial will educated, train and supply solutions to drastically reduce MRSA, Staph and other infections in high schools, colleges, and professional sports programs!

Over the past decade many of the nation’s top colleges and professional sports teams have placed carpet in the locker room. Here is an interesting fact.
Did you know that MRSA and Staph, along with many other bacteria multiply in carpet at a rate of about 2x per 20 minutes!!!
I recently spoke to a nice lady who lost her healthy husband to a MRSA infection after visiting a would center in Illinois. It just so happens this center had carpeted floors and upholstered furniture. What a bad idea! I felt so much sorrow for this neat gal who said, “If I lived closed I’d come work with you for free!” She was totally passionate about MonoFoil antimicrobial being a product that could save people. At Texon Antimicrobial, we remember that we are doing this because it is the right thing to do, that MonoFoil can and will help save lives.
